Chocolate House | 2021, the year of the staycation.

Here at the Chocolate House, we embrace staycations and remember how lucky we are to live in Wales, in the UK. Both are such beautiful destinations which attract a large number of tourists year upon year. However, due to the current circumstances across the world, there are more tourists than ever across the country of people who cannot go abroad.

There's always been a demand for activities for adults and children, more so now than ever. Being in Wales with many coasts, we're fortunate to have many outdoor activities on our doorstep and indoor activities. Something for everyone, I guess you could say.

With the increase in staycations, many people are scouring the internet for suitable activities for adults, families and children. We're pleased that we can offer not only an exciting manufacturing area open to all with an on-site café, but we also offer a variety of chocolate-based workshops to fill up some of that spare time on your holiday. And we all love a bit of chocolate, don't we.

Workshops at the Chocolate House...

Our range of workshops means that we have something suitable for everyone here and we are confident that sometime at the Chocolate House will make your staycation unforgettable.

Some of the chocolate workshops we run here may be the perfect activity (especially on a rainy day) for your staycation. Our most popular workshops are our chocolate tasting sessions and our adult chocolate workshops, both of which run monthly, if not more frequently. If you're reading this and feel a bit persuaded, we highly recommend booking. You can make a booking here online: https://www.chocolate-house.co.uk/workshops

Something for the kids...

One of the most daunting parts of a UK staycation (other than the unreliable weather!) is keeping the children entertained, which is why we have introduced our walk-in chocolate workshops specifically for children. Our walk-in workshops for children run Tuesday-Saturday each week between the hours of 10am and 3.30pm. The workshop includes making and decorating a chocolate lollipop and decorating a biscuit/gingerbread man. The sessions are suitable for adults to supervise, so it's a staycation activity that will be fun for all the family.

Not only do we provide an experience that is both enjoyable and educational, but our shop and workshops allow you to go home with an array of luxury handmade chocolates... for the journey home or to gift to someone else. But who would gift them to someone else after you've worked hard creating the chocolate masterpieces yourself.

"Some customers visit us and end up staying all day. We're based at the Rhondda Heritage park Mining museum they like to do the tours of the mines, maybe stop with us in the cafe for a cuppa and a cake or some lunch and then maybe stay for one of our chocolate workshops, it really can be a full day out for some, and most of our customers tend to return.” Chocolate House owner: Elizabeth Jenkins
